Located in the heart of Ashford, Kent, County Square shopping centre offers a friendly welcome to visitors from across the county and further afield. With more than 50 shops alongside cafes and restaurants, County Square is the local, relaxed choice for the community. After a successful four year relationship working on the account, which has seen phenomenal growth in group numbers of over 1800%, County Square appointed Why Media to create an engaging corporate Christmas video to raise awareness and the profile of the centre at the busiest time of the year, and showcase the fantastic Christmas offer available.

 

Planning and Scoping

As with all of our corporate videos, Why Media worked very closely with County Square to gain an insight into the tone, message and overall result the centre wished to gain out of the video. A storyboard was created which represented the centre as not just a shopping centre, but a community and family friendly establishment for the people of Ashford and surrounding areas, with something for everyone at Christmas time.

 

 

The Video

Following a clear brief, Why Media’s in-house videographer and account manager travelled to Ashford to capture a warm, welcoming yet professional video with a strong Christmas theme. The video features key interviews from Centre Manager, Fran Burt, welcoming customers to the centre and highlighting the fantastic offer available. Along with that, the video also features interviews and Christmas messages from several members of staff at an array of stores, highlighting the core value of County Square Shopping Centre, that they are a community. The video features detailed graphical and animated components as well as a strong human element.

Targeted Advertising Campaign

Video content is over 70% more engaging than text. That is why unsurprisingly, following a targeted YouTube campaign, which placed the video in front of interested parties, the County Square video was extremely well received by all who saw it. The campaign exceeded set KPIS by 1,005% and is continuing to reach new audiences daily.
